Day 335 – Granada, Spain

Granada is AMAZING! Although we had an unusually rough start in this lovely city, we got our groove back by midafternoon. Last night it took us two and a half hours to find our hotel due to bad directions on the hotel’s website (a very long story). This morning it seemed like nothing was going right as well. We wanted to drop off our laundry and go shopping for some toiletries but due to today’s Spanish Holiday, many businesses were closed. Further, my heart sank when we found out that all of the Alhambra tickets for tomorrow were sold out online. Despite this morning’s impediments, we set out to explore Granada and things quickly turned around. We found an automated kiosk next to a bank where we were able to purchase Alhambra tickets (BIG YEAY!). As we followed Lonely Planet’s walking tour, we were completely blown away by Granada’s incredible charm! It is a marvelous city set in the gorgeous backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Simply WOW!
