Day 310 – Messina, Italy (Sicily)

This morning our ship arrived in Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean. In our usual fashion we disembarked and began exploring Messina, our port of call. Once we acquired a map, we began touring the Italian city which was made famous for being the setting of “The Godfather” movie trilogy. The Duomo was very beautiful. Ryan and I especially loved the Duomo’s artistic ceiling and giant mosaics. Messina exudes the typical Italian atmosphere with its beautiful churches, rustic buildings, and friendly people.
