Day 258 – Frankfurt, Germany

This morning we said farewell to Cologne and hopped on a train heading to Frankfurt. Our two and a half hour train ride was pleasantly scenic as we passed through beautiful wine regions. Upon arriving in Frankfurt, we dropped off our bags and quickly began exploring Germany’s financial capital (home to the European Central Bank). Frankfurt has a cute Old Town but most of the city is comprised of modern architecture including many skyscrapers. Ryan and I had a great time sampling German food and the local specialty drink, apple wine.

  1. I have some favorite German food: Wienerschnitzel, served with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, and potato pancakes, served with sugar sprinkled on top, followed by some sour cream and applesauce! Love German food and beverages!
