Day 229 – Budapest, Hungary
After an action packed day of sightseeing yesterday, today we took a more leisurely approach to enjoying Budapest. We only had two items on our agenda: revisit Matyas Templom to see its interior (since it was closed on our first day here) and bathe extensively in the therapeutic thermal waters of Szechenyi Spa. With only these two objectives, we began our day. First we climbed the numerous stairs to the top of Castle Hill to tour the interior of Matyas Templom (which was very beautiful). We then made our way back down, crossed the Szechenyi Chain Bridge, hopped on Line 1 which took us directly in front of Szechenyi Spa. For the remainder of the day we lazily basked in the sun and bathed in Budapest’s thermal waters.
