Day 168 – Goodbye Japan, hello South Korea!

Japan was absolutely amazing. Ryan and I were VERY sad to depart such a kind, courteous, clean, and classy nation. This morning we hopped on a hydrofoil ferry and headed for our next destination, Busan South Korea. Our three hour ferry ride zipped by rather quickly. Upon arriving in Busan, we took the subway to our hotel. We did wander lost for a little bit because our tourist map was not detailed enough. Fortunately several kind locals pointed us in the right direction. After dropping off our bags, we began to explore the area around our hotel (Seomyeon). Towards the evening, we found a great local establishment where we enjoyed a fabulous Korean BBQ dinner (it was our first time eating with metal chopsticks).

(Our super cool hydrofoil ferry – must be seen in movement to appreciate its high tech nature)

(South Korea is the land of the “Kia”, how’s this for some creative marketing?)

  2. The Kia ad definitely left a lasting impression. Nice! A friend of mine had a Kia for awhile. Beautiful car. I still have a crush on my Japanese car (Suzuki), but I’d check out Kia’s if we ever broke up.🙂
