Day 155 – Tokyo, Japan

This morning we sadly said goodbye to Kyoto and hopped on the Shinkansen heading for Tokyo. Our train ride was a little under three hours and it zipped by fairly quickly. Upon arriving in Tokyo, we utilized the local transit system to get to our hotel which is located in the historic Asakusa area. Because there are two hotels with the same name in Asakusa, we initially arrived at the wrong hotel. We had to backtrack before finally arriving at our correct lodgings. Once we checked in, we dropped off our bags and quickly began exploring Tokyo. We visited the Sensouji Temple grounds and walked along many streets lined with adorable shops and restaurants.

    Nice pix!

What’s amazing is the cleanliness around the shop areas. The one place with tables out front was interesting. Evidently, one sits down on the walk to enjoy tea and a pastry! (?)
