Day 99 – Lhasa, Tibet

Tibet continues to awe us. It is such a pure and religious place. Today our guide took us to the famous Potala Palace and The Jokhang Temple. The Potala Palace was the center of Tibetan political and religious affairs. Dating back to the 7th century, this UNESCO site is the residence of the Dalai Lama (if he were to ever be in town). The Palace’s collection of cultural relics was very impressive, especially the giant gold stupas. The Jokhang Temple, located in the center of old Lhasa, was also remarkable.
