Day 82 – Shanghai, China

We continued to explore Shanghai today. The day began with a visit to the railway station to purchase our tickets to Beijing for Thursday (we had to buy our railway tickets in advance in order to avoid the very likely possibility of them selling out). Once we secured our tickets, we headed to the Yuyuan Garden which is one of the finest Chinese gardens in the region. What a tranquil and beautiful place!!! After admiring the traditional Chinese architecture surrounding Yuyuan, we hopped on the metro to Xintiandi (a very trendy Shanghai neighborhood). In Xintiandi, we had pleasure of having dinner with my dear old friend Tao from college, who now lives in Shanghai. It was SO WONDERFUL to see him!
