Day 64 – Khao Sok, Thailand

After spending the past several days in luxurious accommodations in close proximity to gorgeous beaches, today we headed into the more rustic and natural part of Thailand. We departed Phuket by bus this morning and headed to Khao Sok (home to the Khao Sok National Park, a rainforest which is older and more diverse than the Amazon). Our four hour bus ride turned into five as our bus tragically collided with a motorcyclist on the road. Fortunately the older gentleman on the motorcycle survived and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Right now we are in the middle of nowhere and the lush green surroundings remind me of the jungle I’ve always associated with Thailand.
