Day 12 – Christchurch

We continued to head south today. The drive from Kaikoura to Christchurch (the first chartered city in New Zealand) took us a little over two hours. Upon arriving in Christchurch, we began exploring the city by foot. Christchurch has a very historic feel (it has the most historic architecture we have witnessed thus far in New Zealand). During our walking tour, we stumbled upon a couple of free concerts, an open air Sunday market, and many beautiful city landmarks (especially along Worcester Boulevard).

Jola, I am truly enjoying reading about your travels! Christchurch is beautiful. I am so happy for you!

  2. Beautiful! What’s the significance of the jester?

    • Thanks aunt Jan… I don’t think the jester holds any significance. It was just a statue outside of a former university (now a center for art) and I thought it looked really cool🙂
