Day 10 – Anakiwa (on New Zealand’s South Island)

We left Wellington and took the ferry to the south island this morning (arriving in Picton). The views from the ferry sky deck as we sailed through the Marlborough Sound were SPECTACULAR!!! Justifiably, I went totally nuts with my camera today.  The south island of New Zealand is even more gorgeous than the north island. Upon arriving in Anakiwa, we went kayaking on the Marlborough Sound (so much fun). After our arms got tired, we decided to exercise our legs by hiking (“tramping” as the Kiwis like to call it) a part of the Queen Charlotte Track. It was a beautiful hike, Ryan and I truly enjoyed it. We ended our day of physical excursions by relaxing in our hostel’s hot tub.
