Day 8 – Wellington, “the center of all things wonderful”

I must say that today was a bit grueling (I’m exhausted). Ryan and I left Napier in the morning and headed for Wellington (the capital of New Zealand). What I thought was a four hour drive turned into a six hour drive due to the terrain and poor signage on the roads around Napier. Upon arriving in Wellington, we did the scenic coastal drive the guide book recommended (beautiful!). We then explored the city on foot and took a cable car to the Wellington Botanical Gardens, where we saw a great aerial view of the city and enjoyed a free concert on the lawn. Wellington seems like a vibrant metropolitan city, with a focus on fashion and great food. The Nutella crepe I ate this afternoon was to die for!
