Day 6 – Huka Falls / Lake Taupo

After spending two days in Rotorua, Ryan and I headed southwest to explore Taupo. Taupo is a charming city built at the foot of the largest lake in Australasia (Lake Taupo). As we drove to Taupo, we could not help but stop at The Honey Hive where we learned about bees and devoured some delicious honey flavored ice-cream. Another stop along the way, Huka Falls. Upon arriving in Taupo, we took a walking tour of the city, enjoyed some breathtaking views along the lakefront, and visited the Taupo Museum.
