Day 22 and 23 – Nelson / Abel Tasman National Park
Yesterday we spent almost the entire day driving from Franz Josef to Nelson (since it took us over eight hours, Day 22 was pretty much devoted to admiring New Zealand’s beauty through the car window). We did make several stops along the way to break up the drive (one interesting stop was the Pancake Rocks of Punakaiki). Today we headed northwest from Nelson to spend the day at Abel Tasman National Park. We kayaked, enjoyed Abel’s gorgeous beaches, and hiked for a couple of hours on the Abel Tasman Costal Track.

Beautiful! The color of the water is awesome! Whenever I see a stack of pancakes, I’ll always think of the pancake rocks! Let’s hope the pancakes won’t chew like rocks!!!
